09:00 — Departure from Lisbon
Meet in the center of Lisbon (location to be confirmed after booking) and set off along picturesque roads.
Ericeira — a city of waves and fishing legends
A charming coastal town where waves crash against the rocks and the streets hold memories of sea dramas. You will walk along the embankment with breathtaking views of the ocean, hear stories about great storms and record-breaking surfers. Ericeira is a recognized surfing Mecca: world championships are held here, and in local bars people still discuss the biggest waves of the decade.
José Franco Village — Portugal in Miniature
A journey into the past awaits you, to real peasant Portugal.
This is not just a village — it is a living miniature of the 20th century country, created by a potter named José Franco.
You will see:
miniature houses and mills
a working tavern
an oven from where fresh village bread is taken out right before your eyes
hand-made souvenir shops
Mafra
The culmination of the route is the grandiose palace and monastery complex of Mafra.
It seems to have fallen from the sky into a sleepy province: huge, majestic and almost deserted. There you will learn why King João V decided to build a palace "in gratitude for the birth of his son", how he tried to outshine the Spanish Escorial and what secrets this monumental architectural ensemble hides. Here is a library with thousands of rare books, 92 bells, each weighing more than a ton, and a grandeur that takes your breath away.
Return to Lisbon - about 17:00.
